Getting Started
How do I open an Avermo account?

Opening an Avermo account starts with submitting a contact request via our contact page. One of our team members will reach out within one business day to schedule an onboarding call. From there, we'll guide you through our KYC process, which typically takes 13 business days depending on how quickly documents are provided.

Once your compliance check is complete, your account is activated and you can begin using any combination of our four products: FX Exchange, Virtual Accounts, Crypto Exchange, and Payment Gateway.

What documents are required for KYC?

For business accounts, we typically require:

  • Certificate of incorporation or equivalent company registration document
  • Proof of registered business address
  • Government-issued ID for all beneficial owners (>25% ownership)
  • A brief description of your business activities and expected transaction volumes
  • Bank statement or proof of business banking (last 3 months)

Additional documents may be requested based on your industry, jurisdiction, or transaction profile. Our compliance team will work with you to make the process as smooth as possible.

How long does onboarding take?

Most accounts are fully onboarded within 15 business days from the time all documents are received. The timeline depends on the completeness of your submission and any follow-up questions from our compliance team.

Straightforward businesses with clean documentation can often be approved within 2448 hours. Higher-risk business models or complex ownership structures may take longer.

Do I need a separate account for each product?

No. One of Avermo's core advantages is a single account that covers all products. Complete KYC once and gain access to FX Exchange, Virtual Accounts, Crypto Exchange, and Payment Gateway under one umbrella.

You can choose to activate just one product initially and expand to others at any time no additional compliance required.

Is Avermo available to individuals or only businesses?

Avermo's products are designed for business clients corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and other registered business entities. We do not currently offer personal accounts.

If you are a sole proprietor or self-employed professional, please contact us as eligibility may apply depending on your business structure and jurisdiction.

FX Exchange
How are exchange rates calculated?

Avermo uses live mid-market rates sourced from ECB (European Central Bank) data and interbank feeds, updated in real time throughout the trading day. We apply a transparent, competitive spread on top of the mid-market rate disclosed clearly before each transaction is confirmed.

Volume-based pricing is available for high-volume clients, with tighter spreads for larger transaction sizes.

Can I lock in an exchange rate to hedge against volatility?

Yes. Avermo offers locked FX rates for eligible business clients, allowing you to secure a conversion rate upfront and protect against adverse market movements. This is particularly useful for large or time-sensitive transactions.

Contact our team to discuss rate lock availability, duration, and eligibility criteria for your account.

What currencies are supported?

Avermo supports 50+ currency pairs including all major fiat currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, CHF, HKD, CNY, JPY, SGD, and many more. We also cover emerging market currencies such as MXN, NGN, AED, BRL, and others.

A full list of supported pairs is available in your account dashboard. If you need a specific currency not listed, contact our team.

Are there minimum or maximum transaction limits?

Avermo is designed for business-scale transactions. There is no published minimum, but our FX product is optimized for clients transacting $10,000 USD or more per conversion. Our platform comfortably handles 7-figure transactions.

Maximum limits depend on your account tier, compliance profile, and the specific currency pair. High-volume clients should contact us to discuss custom arrangements.

Virtual Accounts
What types of virtual accounts can I open?

Avermo offers six types of virtual accounts, each tied to a different currency and local payment rail:

  • Virtual IBAN EUR accounts for SEPA payments across the Eurozone
  • Virtual ACH/Fedwire USD accounts for domestic US payments
  • Virtual UK account GBP accounts with Sort Code for Faster Payments
  • Virtual CLABE MXN accounts for Mexico's SPEI network
  • Virtual NUBAN NGN accounts for Nigeria's banking system
  • Virtual UAE account AED accounts for the UAE financial system

You can hold multiple currencies simultaneously in your Avermo account.

How do I receive payments into my virtual account?

Once your virtual account is active, you receive a unique account number (IBAN, account + routing, Sort Code, CLABE, NUBAN, or AED account) that you can share with customers, partners, or counterparties.

Payments sent to those details are credited directly to your Avermo balance in the relevant currency. Settlement times depend on the payment rail used SEPA Instant and Faster Payments can settle in seconds; international wires may take 12 business days.

Can I hold multiple currencies at the same time?

Yes. Avermo Virtual Accounts are multi-currency by design. You can simultaneously hold balances in USD, EUR, GBP, MXN, NGN, AED, and any other currency your account is configured for all visible from a single dashboard.

You can instantly convert between currencies using our integrated FX Exchange at live rates whenever you choose to rebalance your holdings.

How fast are outbound transfers?

Transfer speeds depend on the destination rail: SEPA Instant and UK Faster Payments settle in seconds. SEPA credit transfers take up to 1 business day. International SWIFT wires typically settle in 13 business days. ACH/Fedwire transfers within the US settle same-day or next-day depending on the cutoff time.

Crypto Exchange
Which stablecoins does Avermo support?

Avermo currently supports USDT (Tether) and USDC (USD Coin) the two most widely used USD-pegged stablecoins in business and commerce. These cover the vast majority of stablecoin payment flows globally.

We are evaluating support for additional stablecoins (EURC, PYUSD) and will announce updates as they become available.

What blockchain networks are supported?

Avermo supports deposits and withdrawals on:

  • Tron (TRC-20) for USDT
  • Ethereum (ERC-20) for both USDT and USDC
  • Arbitrum for USDC (lower gas fees)

Support for additional L2 networks and blockchain integrations is on our roadmap.

How quickly can I convert stablecoins to fiat?

Once stablecoins are credited to your Avermo wallet (i.e., after blockchain confirmation, which varies by network), conversion to fiat is instant. The converted fiat is immediately available in your Virtual Account balance for withdrawals or further transactions.

On-chain confirmation typically takes: Tron TRC-20 ~12 minutes; Ethereum ERC-20 ~25 minutes; Arbitrum ~13 minutes.

Can I send stablecoins from my Avermo account to external wallets?

Yes, stablecoin withdrawals to external wallets are supported for verified business accounts. All withdrawals are subject to AML screening and beneficiary verification in line with our compliance policies.

Bulk or high-value stablecoin withdrawals may require additional documentation for the first few transactions.

Compliance & Licensing
Is Avermo a licensed company?

Yes. Avermo Financial Services Inc. is a registered Money Services Business (MSB) under FINTRAC Canada's financial intelligence and anti-money laundering regulatory body. Registration number: M23408085.

Our MSB license covers currency exchange, money transfer services, and dealing in virtual currencies (USDT/USDC). All Avermo products operate under this license framework.

How does Avermo's AML/KYC process work?

All Avermo clients go through a robust KYC (Know Your Customer) process at onboarding, covering business verification, beneficial ownership identification, and source of funds assessment. Once onboarded, all transactions are subject to ongoing AML monitoring, including:

  • Real-time transaction monitoring against risk thresholds
  • Sanctions and PEP screening (OFAC, UN, EU lists)
  • Unusual activity detection and reporting as required by FINTRAC
Is Avermo available in my country?

Avermo can serve business clients in most countries, with the ability to send and receive payments in 170+ countries. However, clients must be incorporated in a jurisdiction that is not subject to comprehensive sanctions (e.g., clients in Iran, North Korea, Russia, Cuba, or Syria are not eligible).

If you're unsure whether your business qualifies, please contact our team and we'll assess your situation.

How is my business data and financial information protected?

All data transmitted to and from Avermo is encrypted using TLS 1.3 and AES-256 at rest. Our systems are hosted in Canadian data centers and we maintain data residency in Canada. We are aligned with SOC 2 Type II security principles.

We will never sell, share, or rent your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Fees & Pricing
How does Avermo charge for FX conversions?

Avermo earns a competitive spread on each FX conversion the difference between the interbank/mid-market rate and the rate offered to you. This spread is fully disclosed before you confirm any transaction, so there are no hidden surprises.

Exact spread levels vary by currency pair and transaction volume. High-volume clients receive tighter spreads. Contact us to discuss your expected volumes and get a tailored rate schedule.

Are there monthly or annual account fees?

Avermo does not charge blanket monthly fees for maintaining an account. Fees are primarily transaction-based (conversion spreads, transfer fees). For Virtual Accounts and Crypto accounts, there may be small maintenance or activity fees depending on your tier.

Full pricing details are provided during the onboarding process and are available in your account agreement. Contact us for a transparent breakdown before committing.

Are there fees for incoming or outgoing transfers?

Incoming payments to your Avermo virtual accounts are generally free. Outgoing transfers may incur a small flat fee or network fee depending on the destination rail (e.g., SWIFT wires, international ACH, etc.). On-chain crypto withdrawals incur a network gas fee passed through at cost.

All fees are displayed before confirmation you'll never be charged without seeing the cost upfront.

Do you offer custom pricing for high-volume businesses?

Yes. Avermo offers volume-based pricing for clients with significant monthly transaction volumes. If your business processes $500,000+ USD per month in FX, transfers, or stablecoin activity, you may be eligible for tighter spreads, reduced flat fees, and dedicated account management.

Contact our team to discuss a custom arrangement that fits your business needs.
